• may no longer use expired documents or Forms I-688, I-688A, and I-688B;
• may begin to use foreign passports containing specially-marked machine-readable visas, and documentation for certain citizens of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands, that previously weren't listed on the I-9 form.
Employers must use the revised form starting February 2, 2009, for all new hires and to reverify employees whose work authorization expires.
Finally, your existing I-9 forms are not invalidated by this new regulation. Thus, your current employees with valid I-9 forms need not be re-verified.
